The list recognises the region’s emerging talent and profiles 42 young entrepreneurs and business leaders who 'should be on your radar’. 32-year-old Lucy who launched Good Things in July 2019, was named alongside the founders of Exeter's Blue Goose Coffee Pods, the creator of an up-and-coming houseplant care app and the Chief Executive of Engine Shed.

Lucy launched Good Things after spending several years in the charity sector, both in the UK and abroad. She felt she could make a difference by introducing people in the UK to gifts that have a positive impact here and around the world:

“I passionately believe that what we buy has the power to change things for the better.

"We sell beautiful cushions that provide training, work, and adapted housing for deaf people in Tanzania; wooden games that fund education and sanitation for workers and their families in India; along with toys made completely from recycled milk bottles.

"I've seen for myself that earning a decent wage can change a person's life - and positively impact their family and community. I try to find projects that provide opportunities for everybody, regardless of gender, background, disabilities or other discriminating factors.

"I also make sure products are made from natural, recycled and sustainable materials and send everything in recyclable packaging too."

In its first six months Good Things was featured on BBC One and won both Devon's Fast Track to Growth Award and a national Start Up Business competition at the House of Commons

All the entrepreneurs are invited to an exclusive 42 Under 42 awards event in Bristol this July.
